The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced its intention to support Russia in holding the WEF

The Chinese leadership intends to support Russia in hosting the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) this year. This was stated on August 20 by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, at a briefing.

"China will continue to support Russia in hosting this [Eastern Economic] Forum," she said.

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry added that the WEF is an important platform for the exchange of experience and coordination of efforts in order to promote the development of the countries of the region.

This year, the tenth anniversary Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok from September 3-6 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. His main theme is: "The Far East — cooperation for peace and prosperity." The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
