Air defense shot down 42 drones over Russia overnight

Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 42 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the night of August 20. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"During the past night, 42 Ukrainian aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems on duty," the report says.

So, 14 drones were shot down over the Voronezh region, eight over Tambov, seven over Kursk and five over Rostov. Two more drones were destroyed over the Bryansk, Orel and Smolensk regions, one each over the Krasnodar Territory and the Lipetsk region.

On the same day, it was reported that the air defense forces shot down 23 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the regions of Russia and the Black Sea from August 19 from 21:00 Moscow time to midnight. It was noted that eight drones were destroyed over the territory of the Kursk region, seven over the Bryansk region, five over the territory of the Belgorod region, two over the Republic of Crimea and one over the Black Sea.
