The US Department of State cancelled more than 6 thousand international student visas, of which 4 thousand were terminated from citizens of foreign countries that violated the laws of the United States. This was announced on August 19 by the BBC television and radio company.

"The vast majority of violations were assault, drunk driving, burglary, and support for terrorism," the article explained.

According to the BBC, the administration of US President Donald Trump has also focused on foreign students participating in protests in support of Palestine. They explained such decisions by the fact that the students allegedly "showed anti-Semitic behavior."

The broadcaster noted that the Trump administration had previously suspended interview appointments for international students. But in June, when the measures were lifted, it was announced that applicants would be asked to make their social media accounts publicly available for enhanced verification.

On August 14, US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristy Noam announced that approximately 1.6 million migrants who lived illegally in the United States have left the country since the beginning of the second presidential term of the current head of the White House. According to her, this led to a reduction in the burden on American educational institutions and medical institutions, allowed citizens to retain the opportunity to get more jobs, and also marked "safer streets."
