Almost 70% of German residents are not satisfied with the work of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. This was announced on August 19 by the N-tv channel with reference to the results of a survey conducted by the Forsa Institute.

According to Forsa, only 30% of Germans consider Merz's work satisfactory, while 67% of respondents are dissatisfied with it. In addition, seven out of ten respondents in a smaller sample are convinced that the German Chancellor prefers foreign policy in his activities.

78% of the survey participants also believe that Merz is unable to fulfill his election promises.

The channel also provides the results of a study on the popularity of political parties in the country. According to the results, the first place is occupied by the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party — 26% of respondents gave their votes to it. It is followed by the CDU/CSU faction with a popularity among the population of 24%. The increase was one percentage point compared to last week.

The top three is rounded out by the SPD party, which scored 13% of the vote. The gap with the second place, according to the Forsa survey, is 11 points.

N-tv channel reported on August 12 that the approval level of Friedrich Merz's decisions continues to decline. At that time, two thirds of the respondents (67%) were dissatisfied with his work.
