The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed support for the dialogue on the settlement in Ukraine

China fully supports the political settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, and also continues to work to establish peace. This was stated on August 19 by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, at a briefing.

The diplomat was asked to comment on the results of the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian Leader Vladimir Zelensky with the leaders of the European Union (EU) countries in Washington.

"China has always believed that dialogue and negotiations are the only possible way to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. China supports all efforts to promote a peaceful settlement," she said on the agency's website.

China is pleased that Russia and the United States are exchanging contacts and improving relations, which contributes to a political solution to the current situation, Mao Ning added.
