UAZ cars will receive upgraded engines around the middle of autumn. Bench tests of the ZMZ Pro gasoline engine are currently underway at the Zavolzhsky branch of the Sollers Product Development Center, and the tests are expected to be completed in September, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on August 19.
The 2.7-liter unit has a capacity of 150 hp. to increase the tightness of the structure, the number of attachment points around the perimeter of the valve cover and in the spaces between the holes of the candle wells has been increased. Such engines are designed for UAZ Patriot, Pickup, Pro and Hunter vehicles.
The improvements are designed to optimize the efficiency of the valve mechanism and improve engine reliability. Control over the execution of all operations is provided by a high-precision digitally controlled processing line, a company source said.
