In Serbia, anti-government protesters broke windows in one of the Belgrade offices of the ruling Serbian Party (SPP). This was reported on August 18 by the N1 TV channel.

"Some of the people gathered on Tsvidiceva Street in Belgrade threw stones at the offices of the Serbian Progressive Party. The windows in the rooms are broken," the publication says.

Noted. that the protesters are also using pyrotechnics and throwing stones.

Later, the President of the country, Alexander Vucic, arrived at the place. He said that the police would pursue the rioters "much more actively, faster and tougher." He also expressed his intention to "restore order" in the country.

On 17 August, Vucic promised to take decisive action against the unrest in Serbia. According to him, the government sets itself the task of restoring order, enforcing laws and maintaining peace in the country by mobilizing all available means and levers.At the same time, on the same day, in his address to the nation, the head of state stated that the country's authorities were not considering a state of emergency amid anti-government protests.

On August 12, protests took place in Serbian Vrbas, during which almost 70 people were injured. A group of citizens of the republic expressed dissatisfaction in front of the building of the Serbian Progressive Party and its supporters. On August 13, it was reported that 64 people were injured in the protests, 16 of them policemen. The actions covered the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad and other cities of Serbia.

Anti-government protests began after 15 people died in the collapse of the railway station in Novi Sad in November 2024. The protesters blocked bridges and roads.
