Used car sales Increased by 21% in a month

In July 2025, Russian residents purchased 567.2 thousand used passenger cars, which is 21.4% more than a month earlier. This result is also 3.8% higher than in July last year, according to a statement from the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on August 19.

Lada is the leader in the vintage structure of the secondary market, 139.2 thousand such used cars were purchased in the second month of summer. Toyota retains the second place, with an indicator of 58.4 thousand units. This is followed by Kia and Hyundai (33.1 thousand and 31.7 thousand units, respectively), Nissan closes the top five (25 thousand units), followed by Volkswagen, Honda, Chevrolet, Renault and Ford.

In the top ten, all brands show an increase compared to the level of a month ago, and nine of them have exceeded 20%. The only exception was Ford (+18.8%). In annual comparison, three brands are "in the red": Renault (-2.1%), Nissan (-3.2%) and Ford (-3.4%). The remaining seven show growth, and Honda has the strongest (+12.2%).

In just seven months of this year, 3.3 million used passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is 0.2% more than in January – July 2024.
