Trump assured of the correctness of his actions to resolve the conflict in Ukraine
On August 18, US President Donald Trump said he was doing everything right to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
According to him, only "stupid people" think otherwise, and they only make it more difficult to fix the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
"I know exactly what I'm doing, and I don't need the advice of people who have been working on all these conflicts for years and have not been able to do anything to stop them," he wrote on the Truth Social network.
The American leader also added that he was determined to put an end to the Ukrainian crisis in spite of all his critics.
The meeting between Trump and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will take place at 20:15 Moscow time on August 18 in Washington. The presidents of the United States and Ukraine will discuss a peace treaty with Russia. After that, Trump will hold a meeting with the heads of European states. On the same day, the American leader announced that Zelensky could immediately end the Ukrainian conflict if he renounced his claims to Crimea and his intention to gain membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
Prior to that, on August 15, Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Anchorage, Alaska. Following the talks, Putin noted that Trump is seeking to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He stressed that Russia is also interested in ending the conflict.
