- The largest charging hubs for electric vehicles in Russia will appear on the M-11 highway.
Russia's largest charging hubs for electric vehicles will be built at M-11 Neva, and they will be operational in 2026. In the future, the highway will have six similar complexes. The press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced this in its Telegram channel on August 18.
The hubs will be located on the basis of existing multifunctional road service zones — on 63 km and 75 km of the highway. Electric vehicle drivers will be able to use fast charging with a capacity of 150-210 kW or park their car at a 22 kW station for longer parking.
Each complex has a single service building with cafes and restaurants, minimarkets and pharmacies. The project also includes recreation areas, children's playgrounds and sports facilities, as well as special dog walking areas.
Earlier, on August 4, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that a network of charging stations for electric vehicles would be expanded in Russia. About 5.5 billion rubles will be additionally allocated as part of the core national project, so that about 2 thousand more new stations and hubs for electric vehicles will be deployed in the next three years, he said.
Prior to that, on July 10, it was reported that 4,398 new electric vehicles were sold in Russia in the first half of 2025, which is 57% less than in January–June 2024. The decline in sales in this market segment has been observed for exactly one year — since July last year.
