The approval rating of the US leader Donald Trump has increased after the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This was reported by Newsweek on August 18, citing survey data.

"According to an Insider Vantage poll, 54% of voters said they now approve of the president's actions, while 44% disapprove. Trump's net approval rating of +10% is more than in the last July poll of the publication," the article says.

It is clarified that in the previous survey, 50% of respondents approved of the work of the head of state, and 48% expressed the opposite point of view.

The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump took place on August 15 at the American military base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. At a press conference following the meeting, Putin noted the American leader's desire to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. In turn, Trump said that the negotiations went very well, and called the summit in Alaska wonderful.
