The most common broken carsharing cars on sale are named
In July of this year, the largest number of lots on the carsharing market after an accident in Russia was represented by the Skoda Rapid model, and the Mercedes-Benz E200 became the leader among the premium. Their average cost is 1.3 million and 2.3 million rubles, respectively. This was reported to Izvestia on July 18 by experts from the online marketplace for the sale of broken Migtorg cars.
Among commercial vehicles, Ford Transit and Sollers Atlant have become popular models (their share exceeds 15%) with an average cost of 1.4 million and 1.1 million rubles, respectively.
The increase in the number of lots with carsharing vehicles in the middle of summer was 12% compared to June. As explained by Alexander Korotkov, CEO of Migtorg, this is due to a decrease in the threshold for required driving experience when registering with rental services. Also, motorists now care much less about the condition of the car and the accuracy of driving, he noted. This is the reverse side of the trend of moving from car ownership to car use through rental and leasing, the expert believes.
The most common car—sharing car accident is a frontal impact (about 30% of all cases), which is most often accompanied by the activation of airbags, experts said. The reasons are hitting an obstacle or colliding with oncoming traffic. Side impacts are in second place (25%), they are most often associated with realignments without control of dead zones and violation of distance. As a result, the elements of the right side wing, the front and rear doors, as well as the hinged parts of the bumpers suffer. Other types of damage occur when driving into a ditch, falling into a pit, hitting the back of a car, or as a result of the actions of third parties.
Earlier, on August 7, it became known that in Moscow, since September 1, carsharing users have been verified through mos.ru . The check will allow in advance to restrict access to the rental for those who regularly violate traffic regulations, and law enforcement agencies will be able to identify the driver faster in case of an emergency or an accident, the metropolitan authorities said.
