The head of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, announced on August 17 that the 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia would be ready in early September.

According to her, Europe will continue to exert diplomatic and economic pressure on Russia, as well as tighten restrictions.

"At the moment, we have adopted 18 packages of measures and are preparing for the 19th. This package will be presented in early September," the head of the European Commission said during a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Brussels.

EC representative Ariana Podesta said on August 14 that the European Union has no plans to ease anti-Russian sanctions in the event of a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
