German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will take part in a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his American counterpart Donald Trump in Washington. This was reported on August 17 by the BBC with reference to the official representative of the Cabinet of Germany Stefan Cornelius.
"The trip will be a kind of exchange of information with US President Donald Trump after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska," the chancellor's spokesman said.
He also added that security guarantees, territorial issues and further support for Ukraine would be discussed at the meeting.
