Spartak Moscow Football Club (FC) drew with Zenit from St. Petersburg in the fifth round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL). The match on August 16 at the Lukoil Arena in Moscow ended with a score of 2:2.

The St. Petersburg team's goals were scored by forwards Mateo Casserra (15th minute) and Alexander Sobolev (63rd). Midfielders Marquinhos (18th) and Jedson Fernandes (38th) scored from Spartak.

In the 89th minute of the match, the midfielder of the capital club, Ezequiel Barco, missed a penalty, Jedson Fernandes finished the ball into the goal, but the referee canceled Spartak's goal due to Barco's double touch on impact, Sport-Express clarifies.

Spartak will host the St. Petersburg club in the next round of the RPL, Dynamo will hold a derby with CSKA, and Lokomotiv will fly to Kaliningrad.

Earlier in the day, FC Lokomotiv Moscow drew 1-1 with Baltika Kaliningrad in the fifth round of the Russian Premier League. Striker Brian Hill scored a goal for the Kaliningrad team (24th minute), striker Nikolay Komlichenko scored for Lokomotiv (80th minute).
