Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for cooperation with Foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said that his meeting with the bear in Alaska on August 15 really turned out to be a good sign.

On August 15, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund met a bear in Alaska on the eve of the Russian-US summit. Then the special representative of the president expressed the hope that meeting with a wild animal is a good sign.

"The bear was really a good sign," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter) after the Russian-American negotiations.

On the eve of the summit, Dmitriev also visited the Eklutna Park in the state. He passed by the local St. Nicholas Church, which was used until 1900.

On August 15, a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump took place in the state, which lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. At a press conference following the meeting, the Russian president noted the American leader's desire to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Putin added that Russia is also interested in this, but first it is necessary to solve all the root causes of the crisis. The press conference ended without answering the journalists' questions.
