Employees of a pub in the British Cotswolds threatened to leave the establishment if it was visited by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance. The American politician had to change the place for dinner. This was reported by the Daily Mail on August 16.

"US Vice President J. D. Vance was forced to cancel a dinner order at a trendy Cotswolds gastropub after staff threatened to leave if he showed up," the publication says.

According to the Daily Mail, the pub offers the opportunity to host private dinners for 28 people in a "secret garden room," and Vance specifically chose it in order to "hide from protesters angry at his stay in the Cotswolds."

Last month, former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris visited the same pub. However, it was Vance who refused to serve there, the newspaper emphasizes.

According to the publication, Vance's family vacation in the UK "turned into hell" for local residents due to "numerous police convoys and buzzing helicopters."

Earlier, on August 13, it was reported that British Foreign Minister David Lammy could be fined 2.5 thousand pounds (about $3.4 thousand) for fishing with Vance without a fishing rod license. Their meeting took place on August 8th. Vance and his family spent two days at Lammy's during their summer vacation. Following the meeting, he described the British Foreign Secretary as "a good friend and a very kind host."
