Virgin Active, a popular gym chain worldwide, has banned transgender people (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist in Russia and is prohibited) from using women's locker rooms after a threat of legal action from a TV star. This was reported by the Daily Mail on August 16.

According to the resource, the gym chain, which has 230 clubs in eight countries, sent an email to its customers informing them of an "important update to the club's rules."

"In order to comply with the law, we had to update the rules of our club so that the locker rooms and toilets were separated by biological sex," the letter says.

This happened after GB News anchor Michelle Dewberry announced that she had cancelled her membership in a sports club because she "saw a man in the women's locker room," the article says.

According to the publication, the lawyers of the star sent a letter threatening to prosecute the company.

On July 23, it was reported that transgender people are no longer allowed to compete in the United States Olympic and Paralympic Games in the women's categories. The relevant ban was adopted by the US Olympic Committee (USOPC),
