Consultations on the restoration of flights with the United States will take place in the near future. Alexander Darchiev, the Russian Ambassador to Washington, told Izvestia on August 16, adding that he would like to speed up the process of resuming flights.

"Regular consultations on normalization are due to take place soon <...>, where we hope to discuss them in detail," Darchiev shared.

On the same day, the ambassador said that Russia had developed a package of documents for the resumption of direct flights with the United States. He also expressed hope that the Russia-US summit in Alaska would contribute to the normalization of diplomatic relations.
