Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during talks with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref on the sidelines of a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kyrgyzstan on August 15, pointed to the successful development of Russian-Iranian cooperation.

"Russian-Iranian trade and economic cooperation is developing successfully," Mishustin said during the meeting.

He recalled that the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran came into force in May. According to the Russian Prime Minister, it will contribute to the growth of mutual trade and the promotion of joint economic projects.

"Relations between Russia and Iran are based on the principles of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests. The task of our governments is to ensure systematic work to implement the agreements that were reached at the highest level," Mishustin said, pointing to the comprehensive partnership agreement between the countries.

At the beginning of the talks, the Russian Prime Minister asked the Iranian Vice President to convey the best wishes to Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian from Russian Leader Vladimir Putin.

"I would like to ask you to convey the best wishes to Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian from Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and, of course, from me personally," Mishustin said.

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 29 that Russia considers China, Iran and North Korea to be its allies. He added that Russia largely shares the vision of the foundations of the world order with these countries.
