Israel is negotiating with five countries to accept Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. CNN reported this on August 14, citing senior sources.
According to the channel's interlocutors, we are talking about countries such as South Sudan, Somaliland, Ethiopia, Libya and Indonesia.
"We are negotiating with several countries," CNN quoted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying.
In exchange for hosting more than 2 million people, the countries expect to receive significant financial and international compensation. However, it is not yet known at what stage these negotiations are and whether they will lead to the desired result.
On August 14, The Telegraph newspaper reported that South Sudan had agreed to accept Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. It is clarified that the government approved the request as part of the deal, which also involves the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
