At least five police officers were injured and more than 14 people were arrested on August 15 as a result of protests in Serbia. This was announced by the country's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.

"There have been no such attacks on the police for many years," the Interior Ministry quoted him as saying on its official website.

Dacic said that all those who attacked the police or damaged other people's property would be criminally punished. He also thanked the police officers for their work.

Dacic reported on August 14 that more than 27 police officers were injured as a result of the rallies. It was clarified that 47 violators of the order were detained as a result of the clashes.

On August 12, protests took place in Serbian Vrbas, during which almost 70 people were injured. A group of citizens of the republic expressed dissatisfaction in front of the building of the Serbian Progressive Party and its supporters. On August 13, it was reported that 64 people were injured in the protests, 16 of them policemen. The actions covered the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad and other cities of Serbia.

Anti-government protests began after 15 people died in the collapse of the railway station in Novi Sad in November 2024. The protesters blocked bridges and roads.
