The newest sea transport Akademik Makeev was launched in Severodvinsk

In Severodvinsk, the newest sea transport of reinforced ice-class weapons of the 20181 Akademik Makeev project was launched. This was announced on August 14 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"On August 14, in Severodvinsk, at the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center, a solemn ceremony was held for the decommissioning and launching of sea transport of reinforced ice class weapons of the 20181 Akademik Makeev project," the ministry said in a statement, quoted by TASS.

It was clarified that the ship was developed by the USC Almaz design Bureau commissioned by the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to the press service of the department, it is intended for loading, unloading and transporting weapons.
