The middle of August in Moscow and the central regions of Russia was marked by a noticeable cooling, which came after an abnormal heat wave in July. Weather in Moscow today, August 14th

According to the Yandex Weather portal, on August 14, the air temperature in Moscow will range from +17 to +20 degrees, and at night it will drop to +10. It will be clear in the morning, but clouds will cover the sky by the middle of the day.

"A secondary cold front will pass through the region on the western periphery of the cyclone, which will lead to increased clouds and short-term rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder. Under these conditions, the air temperature is expected to be three to four degrees below the normal climatic norm," said Mikhail Leus, a leading meteorologist at the Phobos center.

It is also possible to increase the wind to 4-9 m/s with noticeable gusts. The atmospheric pressure will be about 743-750 mmHg. In the Moscow region, the thermometer will range from 17 to 22 degrees above zero.

Weather forecast in Moscow and Moscow region for the end of the week

Mostly clear weather without significant precipitation is forecast for the end of August. The average water temperature in the Black Sea will be +26...+27 degrees.

In Sochi at the end of August, it is expected to reach +28...+30 degrees, night temperatures will not drop below +20...+22 degrees. The weather will be mostly sunny, with short-term rains possible, but generally a steady heat wave will remain. The sea temperature during this period will be about +25 degrees.

In Crimea, daytime air temperatures at the end of August will be about +25...+27 degrees, night temperatures will be around +21...+24 degrees. The water temperature in different parts of Crimea varies around +24...+27 degrees, depending on the specific coast, which is also favorable for swimming.

Regional weather for the end of August 2025

At the end of August 2025, most Russian regions will experience a noticeable cold snap, typical of the transition period between summer and autumn. In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, we should expect changeable weather with daytime temperatures of 17-19 degrees and nighttime temperatures of +15...+12 degrees. It will often be cloudy, and short-term rains are possible.

In the Volga Federal District, in cities such as Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Samara, the air temperature by the end of summer will range from 19 to 27 degrees, nights will be cooler — +17...+12 degrees. Closer to September, the number of rainy days will increase slightly.

The Ural Federal District, including Ufa, Perm, Yekaterinburg and Chelyabinsk, will meet the end of August with moderately warm weather: daytime temperatures will be around 18-25 degrees with nighttime values from 8 to 15 degrees. A slight increase in cloudy days is also expected here by September 1.

Southern regions such as Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar Krai will maintain a warmer and drier climate. During the day, the air temperature will be around +25...+30 degrees, at night it will be slightly cooler — up to +20...+18 degrees. There will be little precipitation, and the weather is forecast to be mostly sunny.

In the Siberian Federal District, including Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk, cool and changeable weather is expected with daytime temperatures ranging from 12 to 26 degrees and night temperatures from 7 to 18 degrees. It will often be cloudy, with rain and high humidity.

In the Far Eastern Federal District (Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk), the climate will remain relatively warm, with daytime temperatures ranging from 22 to 29 degrees and nighttime temperatures from 14 to 23 degrees. Periods of clouds and rains are also forecast here, which is typical for the climatic conditions of the region in late summer.

Weather forecast for September 1, 2025

On Knowledge Day, September 1, which falls on a Monday in 2025, cool and changeable weather is expected in Moscow with daytime temperatures of about 16-20 degrees. Short-term rains and moderate winds are likely, so parents and schoolchildren should keep warm and grab an umbrella for the ruler.

In St. Petersburg, the air temperature on September 1 will be slightly lower — from 14 to 17 degrees. The sky will remain mostly cloudy with possible precipitation in the form of short-term rains.

In other Russian regions, the weather typical for the beginning of autumn with variable clouds is also expected on September 1. In Tula and Kaluga, daytime temperatures will range from 16-20 degrees, light precipitation is possible, but overall the weather will remain comfortable. In the North-Western district, the thermometer will show from 13 to 17 degrees in the daytime.

The Southern Federal District will provide a warmer atmosphere — daytime temperatures will exceed +20 degrees, no precipitation is expected. In the Volga Federal District, thermometers will show 17-22 degrees in the afternoon, light rain is forecast.

In the Ural district, the daytime temperature will be 15-20 degrees, the weather will be mostly sunny, but you should also be prepared for precipitation in the form of rain. In the Siberian Federal District, forecasters predict cooler conditions: from 12 to 18 degrees in the afternoon, with frequent clouds and rains. Cloudy weather with heavy precipitation is expected in the cities of the Far Eastern Federal District on September 1. The air temperature will be 18-23 degrees.

In general, the first day of autumn will welcome schoolchildren and students with cool, but not too harsh weather with local rains and moderate temperatures.
