Klyuchevskaya volcano in the east of the Kamchatka Peninsula has spewed an ash column, which reaches a height of 6 km. This was announced on August 14 by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"The explosions raised the ashes of the Klyuchevskaya volcano 6 km above sea level," follows from the publication in the Telegram channel.
It is specified that the ash plume stretches for 15 km to the east-northeast of the volcano. The volcano's activity has been recognized as dangerous for local air travel, and the aviation color code "orange" has been announced.
On August 12, KVERT of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported the release of ash by the Klyuchevskaya volcano at 7 km above sea level. It was clarified that the ash plume stretched 140 km to the south-southwest.
