Russia will study the details of the Trump Roads project through the Syunik region of Armenia, proposed by US President Donald Trump. This was announced on August 13 by the Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Fadeev.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry will study the details of the project, which, by the way, has not yet been made public," he said during a briefing.

Fadeev noted that the extra-regional forces that have joined the settlement of the situation in the South Caucasus should promote a peaceful agenda, they should not create new dividing lines. Armenia's membership in the EAEU and the presence of Russian border guards in the Syunik region should also be taken into account.

"They [these factors] should be taken into account when making decisions on unblocking transport communications in the region," concluded Fadeev.

On August 8, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. During a meeting in Washington with the participation of US President Donald Trump, they agreed to end the confrontation and resume diplomatic relations. Later, the Armenian Prime Minister said that Yerevan and Baku had established peace by signing documents in Washington.

Later, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia for the first time published the text of the initialed peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku, consisting of 17 points. According to the text of the document, the parties agreed to recognize and respect each other's sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of international borders and political independence.

On June 21, Pashinyan announced that the Zangezur Corridor project would cease to exist in the country, and a "Crossroads of the World" would appear instead. The Prime Minister noted that he sees no reason why representatives of Turkey and Azerbaijan should not travel around Armenia. According to him, the "Crossroads of the World" implies the possibility of transport transit.
