France, Great Britain and Germany have expressed their readiness to re-impose sanctions against Iran if the Islamic Republic does not resume negotiations with the international community on its nuclear doctrine. This was reported on August 13 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.

"We have made it clear that if Iran is not ready to come to a diplomatic solution by the end of August 2025 or does not take advantage of the possibility of an extension, the Eurotroika countries are ready to use the mechanism for the return of sanctions," the publication quotes the text of a letter from the foreign ministers of the three countries sent to the UN.

It is clarified that the Iranian side did not respond in any way to the message about a possible extension of restrictions. According to the newspaper, new sanctions for a limited period of time will be able to provide more time for negotiations aimed at concluding a nuclear agreement.

Bloomberg reported on July 30 that the United States imposed the most extensive sanctions against Iran in seven years, including against the international shipping network controlled by Tehran, as well as dozens of companies and vessels. These measures were taken a week after the European Union (EU) imposed sanctions against Shamkhani and several of his companies.
