Orban announced Hungary's ability to destroy Ukraine in one day
Hungary has the opportunity to cause serious problems for Ukraine by cutting off gas and electricity supplies, but it does not see any benefit in this. This was announced on August 12 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"We could arrange the disintegration of Ukraine in one day. <...> But this is not in our interests. <...> Ukraine receives a significant part of its electricity and gas from Hungary. If an accident happens, <...> Ukraine will stand up," Orban said in an interview for the Patriota Internet portal.
The Prime Minister expressed the opinion that despite their dependence on Hungary, Ukrainians demonstrate a disrespectful attitude, using unacceptable expressions in communication, according to him. According to Orban, Kiev is aware that Budapest does not seek to undermine Ukraine's security.
At the same time, he stressed that Hungary is not interested in joining Ukraine within the framework of the European Union (EU) or NATO. He attributed this to the constant divergence of interests.
Earlier in the day, Orban called the EU's attempts to impose its conditions on Russia and the United States pathetic.
