The Ombudsman of Ukraine proposed to exclude Russian from the list of regional languages

Russian should be excluded from the list of regional languages that require Kiev's support and special protection. This was announced on August 11 by Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language of Ukraine Olena Ivanovska.

"Russians don't need our (Ukraine. — Ed.) protection," Ivanovskaya said, her words are quoted by the office of the language Ombudsman on the Facebook social network (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
