The number of e-CTP policies sold in a year has set a record
In July 2025, 3.5 million electronic CTP were issued in Russia, which is 27% more than in the same period last year. This is reported by the press service of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA).
In July, the number of e-policies sold set a new record, said RSA President Evgeny Ufimtsev. According to him, the sales growth of e-CTP from the beginning of the year to July amounted to 44.8%. He also added that the share of e-CTP sold is 70% of all CTP policies sold during this period. This means that most car owners buy a mandatory "auto citizen" policy online.
In total, 19.9 million e-CTP policies were sold from January to July 2025, which is 21.4% more than in seven months in 2024.
The Top 10 regions included Moscow (2.1 million e-CTP policies, a share of 10.7%), the Moscow Region (1.3 million, 6.5%), the Krasnodar Territory (924 thousand,4.6%), St. Petersburg (838 thousand, 4.2%), the Sverdlovsk Region (622 thousand, 3.1%), Chelyabinsk Region (561 thousand, 2.8%), Republic of Tatarstan (556 thousand,2.8%), Republic of Bashkortostan (492 thousand,2.5%), Rostov Region (485,000,2.4%), Samara Region (470 thousand, 2.4%).
Earlier, experts from Mains Lab, having studied the data of the Secunda accident damage assessment service, found out that Chinese cars were more often included in the calculation of the cost of CTP repairs. Their share increased by one and a half times in the first half of 2025, from 5% to 7.5%.
At the same time, the percentage of CTP repair calculations for European car owners decreased by 3.6 percentage points (percentage points) year—on-year and amounted to 27.4%, Korean - by 3.1 percentage points to 18.9%. Japanese and Russian cars showed an increase to 26.3% (+2.3 percentage points) and 12.9% (+2.9 percentage points).
