Aliev instructed to allocate funds for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine
Azerbaijan will allocate funds to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. The corresponding decree of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was published by the Azertag agency on August 11.
"Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine are developing on the basis of friendship and partnership, on the basis of relevant bilateral documents, including the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine..>, "Declaration of Friendship and Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine" <..> and "Joint Declaration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the President of Ukraine," the President recalled.
It is noted that Azerbaijan will allocate $2 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The funds will be taken from the country's reserve fund. Aliyev also recalled that Azerbaijan had already helped Ukraine before.
It follows from the published order that these funds will be allocated "for the purchase and shipment of electrical equipment manufactured in the Republic of Azerbaijan," adds "Газета.Ru ".
Earlier, on February 5, it was reported that Aliyev had allocated $1 million to the Ministry of Energy to provide humanitarian assistance to Kiev. Azerbaijan has already helped Ukraine several times before. So, in July 2023, Aliyev allocated $7.6 million in manat equivalent to the country's Ministry of Energy for the purchase and shipment of electrical equipment to Ukraine.
