Netanyahu called the main problem in relations between Israel and the Gaza Strip
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on August 10 that the key problem in relations between the Jewish state and the Gaza Strip is the absence of a unified Palestinian state.
"The main assumption is that the problem we face in relations with the Palestinians is the absence of a Palestinian state," the politician said at a press conference broadcast on YouTube.
At the same time, according to the Prime Minister, the Palestinians "were offered many times to create a state," but they refused.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is considering the possibility of transforming the Palestinian Authority into the State of Palestine. This decision can be unilaterally announced at the UN General Assembly (GA) in New York.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on July 24 that France would recognize Palestine at the UN General Assembly in September 2026. Later, on July 28, The Times newspaper learned that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, under pressure from the cabinet, plans to present a plan for the recognition of Palestine, which will include certain conditions.
