The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) entered a number of settlements in the Syrian province of Quneitra and set up checkpoints. This was reported by the Syrian SANA news agency on Saturday, August 9.
"According to a correspondent of the SANA news agency in Quneitra, 10 four-wheel drive vehicles with soldiers entered from the Tal Ahmar base to the west towards the Brega-Kudna road, setting up a checkpoint," the publication says.
It was also reported that 10 vehicles carrying Israeli military personnel arrived in the village of Ruwayhina in the central countryside of Quneitra. Five cars were seen in the city of Rafid. The newspaper also reported that an Israeli patrol appeared in the central part of the province, in which, in addition to cars, two tanks were seen.
According to the newspaper, IDF soldiers searched civilians at the checkpoint.
Earlier, on August 3, it was reported that the IDF had taken control of a site in Quneitra province in southern Syria and turned one of the captured buildings into its new outpost.
