A lion escaped from a private zoo near Prague, the animal attacked the keeper. This was reported by the Czech edition. Novinky.cz on Saturday, August 9, with reference to the press secretary of the police Vlasta Sukhankova.

"At about 19:58, we received a message that a lion had allegedly escaped from a keeper's enclosure in Zvolen. The man suffered minor injuries. We immediately went to the scene of the accident. The situation on the spot was such that the police had to use their service weapons and neutralize the lion," she said.

Sukhankova noted that an investigation into the incident has already been launched.

It was also reported that the zookeeper, who was injured in an attack by a predatory animal, received first aid, and emergency services worked with him. The man did not require hospitalization and decided to stay at the scene.

Earlier, on August 2, it was reported that a zoo employee in Jerusalem died after being attacked by a leopard that escaped from its enclosure during a guided tour. According to local media, 36-year-old Uriel Nuri was preparing the predators for a demonstration as part of a private tour when the leopard managed to escape from the enclosure into the courtyard and attack an employee.
