US President Donald Trump has appointed former State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce to the post of Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations (UN). He stated this on August 9 in his social network Truth Social.

"I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Tammy Bruce, a great patriot, TV presenter and best—selling author, for the post of deputy U.S. representative to the United Nations with the rank of ambassador," the American leader wrote.

He noted Bruce's "fantastic work" as the State Department's press secretary and expressed hope that she would brilliantly represent the country at the UN.

On May 1, Trump announced the nomination of his national security adviser Michael Waltz to the post of U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations. According to him, the official "worked hard" to put the interests of the United States first.
