A man parachuted from the Eiffel Tower
Paris police have detained three men who climbed the Eiffel Tower, one of whom managed to make a parachute jump from there. This was reported on August 9 by the Journal du Dimanche newspaper.
"At about 5:20 (6:20 Moscow time — Ed.), the security service of the Paris monument announced the presence of three people climbing the structure. Almost an hour later, one of them even parachuted off, after which he was detained on the ground without incident near the Champ de Mars. His two companions descended, accompanied by employees of the GRIMP Intervention Group and firefighters, and then were handed over to the police," the material says.
It is noted that three of the accused were placed in police custody for "unauthorized entry into a building listed as an architectural monument."
On February 23, it was reported that the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the UAE Defense Ministry, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, parachuted from the world's tallest building, the Dubai Burj Khalifa skyscraper. It was clarified that the sheikh, along with 31 athletes from 15 countries, jumped from a platform installed 6 m above the 139th floor of the building.
