The recommendations to Russian citizens not to visit Israel have been lifted against the background of the stabilization of the situation in the Middle East region. This was announced on Saturday, August 9, by the Director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Klimov.

"Against the background of the relative stabilization of the situation in the region, there are currently no obstacles to visiting Israel," Klimov said in an interview with TASS.

The Director of the Consular Department also noted that Russian citizens staying in Israel are advised to avoid visiting areas bordering Syria and Lebanon, as well as the vicinity of the Gaza Strip. Iraq was included in the list of countries not recommended for visits. According to Klimov, the councils are conditioned by the difficult political situation.

He stressed that Russians working in Iraq as part of their business should contact local security companies to ensure their safety. The Russian foreign Ministry recommended that tourists in Egypt travel exclusively as part of organized groups.

Earlier, on June 25, the Israeli airline El Al announced the resumption of regular flights on the Tel Aviv — Moscow route. It was clarified that flights are operated from Domodedovo Airport daily, from Sunday to Thursday.

The recommendation to refrain from visiting Israel was given to Russian citizens on June 13 against the background of attacks by the Israeli army on Iran. Those who had the opportunity were then advised to leave the country.
