The emergency mode was introduced in Rostov-on-Don due to a fire in an apartment building in the Levoberezhny microdistrict after an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This was announced on August 9 by the mayor Alexander Scriabin.

"It was decided to introduce a state of emergency before eliminating the consequences of the attack, as well as establish a local response level," Scriabin wrote on his Telegram channel.

The head of Rostov-on-Don instructed the responsible services and management companies to begin eliminating the consequences of the incident. In addition, the district administration is organizing an apartment-by-apartment tour to assess the extent of the damage and provide the necessary assistance.

"It was also decided to allocate funds from the city administration's reserve fund to provide one—time financial assistance to citizens," Scriabin added.

He clarified that law enforcement officers conducted an operational survey of the territory.

Earlier that day, in Rostov-on-Don, an explosion and subsequent fire occurred at the 18th floor level in a multi-storey apartment building as a result of an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle. It was clarified that there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the incident.
