Yerevan and Baku established peace after signing the documents in Washington. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on August 9.

"I have been saying for several months that there will be no war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, there will be peace. Today we can say that peace has been established, and it has been established within the framework of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our countries," he said during a press conference broadcast on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Pashinyan called the incident a historic event.

Earlier, on August 8, Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. During the meeting in Washington, they agreed to end the confrontation and resume diplomatic relations.
