Pashinyan announced the resumption of communications between Yerevan and Baku
Communications between Yerevan and Baku will be unblocked within the framework of the jurisdiction and sovereignty of the countries. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on August 9.
"Whatever decisions we discuss, they must comply with the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders and act on the basis of reciprocity," he said during an online press conference broadcast on the social network Facebook (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
At the same time, Pashinyan clarified that at this stage the parties did not go into details.
Earlier, on August 8, Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. During the meeting in Washington, they agreed to end the confrontation and resume diplomatic relations.
