The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade will find additional funds to support preferential car loans. This was reported on August 8 by TASS with reference to the head of the department Anton Alikhanov.
"We have decided <...> to find about 10 billion rubles in order to additionally support preferential car loans. We hope that this will help AvtoVAZ and other domestic automakers," said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade during a working meeting with the Governor of the Samara region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev in Tolyatti.
He also stressed the importance of lowering the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and expressed hope for the revival of car loans.
"This is a key task now — to support car loans," he said.
According to the results of January — June 2025, over 82.4 thousand cars were sold in Russia under demand stimulation programs. The total volume of discounts provided amounted to almost 24.5 billion rubles.
More than 51.7 thousand cars were sold under the preferential car loan program on more favorable terms, and more than 30.7 thousand cars were sold under the preferential leasing program. In total, under both programs, about 60.8 thousand cars were produced by Lada models.
In May, the preferential car loan program was expanded to include families with two or more children. As of the end of June, the "Family Car" subprogram has already shown its effect, taking a share of about 15% of the total share of deliveries during this period in a month and a half, the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted earlier. Under the new conditions, over 2 thousand cars were sold, about 94% of this volume is accounted for by Lada models.
Earlier, on August 5, the analytical agency Autostat reported that 120,649 new passenger cars were sold in Russia by the end of July 2025. This is 11.4% less than in July 2024.
Lada retains its leadership with an impressive advantage, accounting for about a quarter (23.41%) of the total volume, with 28,240 copies sold. The most popular foreign brand in July was Chery, with a circulation of 13,502 units. Haval dropped to the third place (13,117 units), followed by Geely and Changan — 8,389 and 7860 units. accordingly.
