The Cheryomushkinsky court in Moscow arrested in absentia the writer Dmitry Bykov (listed as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) in the case of fakes about the Russian army. This was reported to Izvestia in the courtroom on August 8.
In mid-July, the Russian Interior Ministry put the writer on the federal wanted list.
At the end of April, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Bykov. According to the investigation, the writer is suspected of publicly spreading deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (paragraph "d" of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and evading duties provided for by the legislation on foreign agents (part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code).
