Investigators have opened a criminal case on robbery after an attack on a post office in Moscow. This was announced on August 8 by the press service of the Moscow Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
"Upon the fact of open embezzlement of funds in a state institution located on Medikov Street, an investigator of the investigative Department of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Southern Administrative District of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery")," follows from a message provided by TASS.
It is specified that the amount of stolen funds exceeded 4.8 million rubles. At the moment, law enforcement officers are continuing operational search activities in order to detain the intruders.
The robbery occurred earlier in the day in the Tsaritsyno area. It was reported that two unidentified men, wearing masks, threatened an employee with an object structurally similar to a pistol, stole money and fled.
Later, the company's press service told Izvestia that Russian Post customers would not suffer due to the actions of intruders. It was noted that the funds operated by the Russian Post are insured.
