In Moscow, swimming is now allowed in five recreation areas — Troparevo, Pionersky Pond, Shkolnoye Lake, Chernoe Lake and Putyaevsky Pond No. 1. This was announced on Thursday, August 7, by the press service of the Moscow Department of Rospotrebnadzor.

The ministry clarified that in four zones — Lake Beloe (VAO), Serebryany Bor-2 and Serebryany Bor-3 (NWAO), as well as in Meshchersky (ZAO) — the water quality has deteriorated, so swimming there is temporarily not recommended. These territories operate as recreational areas without swimming, designed for beach holidays, sports and other leisure activities, the Moscow City News agency notes.

In addition, the press service added that four more zones - Levoberezhye, Dynamo beach, Golovinsky ponds and Bolshoy Sadovy Pond — are open only as recreation areas without the right to swim. The reason was the discrepancy between the quality of water and sand to the established standards, signs prohibiting swimming were installed on the shores, writes RT.

Earlier in the day, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that the bathing season in the capital continues. According to him, the water temperature ranges from 18 to 24 degrees, according to "Moscow 24".
