The RFU Appeals Committee upheld the decision to suspend Pisarsky.
The Appeal Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) rejected the complaint of striker Vladimir Pisarsky against the decision to suspend. This was announced on August 7 by sports lawyer Anton Smirnov, who represents the interests of the player.
On July 3, the RFU suspended Vladimir Pisarsky, the forward of the FC Sochi football club, for four years, three of which will be conditional. The RFU initiated an investigation into Pisarsky after information about a possible bet made through third parties on the RPL play-off match against Paris NN, which ended with a score of 1:2.
"The RFU Appeals Committee upheld the decision of the RFU Ethics Committee of July 3, 2025 against Vladimir Pisarsky," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Smirnov, now it is necessary to prepare for an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
On July 16, Samara football club Krylia Sovetov unilaterally terminated the contract with Pisarsky. According to Smirnov, the athlete does not agree with the club's decision, as disqualification and a ban on football-related activities are different sanctions.
