New registration rules for carsharing services to be introduced in Moscow
Since September 1, user verification has been introduced in the capital via mos.ru . This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the Telegram channel.
"To make this service even safer, starting from September 1, we will introduce user verification via Mos ID. It is already in effect for couriers and users of electric scooter rentals and has shown high efficiency — the accident rate has decreased by 60% since the beginning of this season," he said.
Checking carsharing users will allow you to limit rental access in advance for those who regularly violate traffic rules. In turn, law enforcement agencies will be able to identify the driver faster in case of an emergency or an accident.
It is noted that verification in carsharing will not take much time. It will be enough to confirm the account.
On June 25, it was reported that by the end of January – May 2025, accidents caused by carsharing users decreased by 19% compared to the same period last year. Accidents have decreased amid an increase in the number and duration of trips, analysts said. The largest decrease in the number of accidents caused by users over the past five months occurred in Kazan, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg.
