A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of troops defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 210 militants, three armored combat vehicles, 10 vehicles, three artillery pieces, a counter-battery radar station and two ammunition depots.

"The units of the Center group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. Formations of four mechanized, jaeger, assault, amphibious assault, and airmobile brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades, a defense brigade, and two National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Dimitrov, Krasnoarmeysk, Suvorovo, Rodinskoye, Chunishino, Rubezhnoye, Udachnoye, Donetsk People's Republic, and Filia, Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to more than 420 military personnel, three armored combat vehicles, five vehicles and an artillery piece," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the railway junction in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which provided the transfer of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Donbass, control points and storage sites for long-range drones, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian formations and foreign mercenaries in 133 areas.

Air defense systems, in turn, shot down eight UK-made Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles, a guided aerial bomb, a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 240 aircraft-type drones. In addition, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed an unmanned enemy boat in the northeastern part of the Black Sea.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 664 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 75,210 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,478 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,584 multiple rocket launchers, 28,245 field artillery and mortars, and 39,238 special vehicles.
