- Yampolskaya spoke about the development of unified school textbooks in the Russian language
Authoring teams are working on the preparation of unified state school textbooks on the Russian language and literature, and the principles underlying them are determined by teachers of literature. Elena Yampolskaya, adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, told about this on August 7.
Russian Russian Language and Literature Teaching Expert Commission, which has been formed under the Presidential Council for the Implementation of state Policy in the field of support of the Russian language and the Languages of the Peoples of Russia, will participate in the development of textbooks, Yampolskaya said.
"Each region of our country has delegated its representative to this commission. Many of them have already submitted their suggestions and requests for future textbooks to our Council," Yampolskaya said in her Telegram channel.
She noted that on August 12, a meeting of the commission will be held in the VKS mode, which will be attended by 89 specialists from the regions. Yampolskaya clarified that the main issue of this meeting would be the development of textbooks.
Also, according to the presidential adviser, from September 1, the practice of reading programs will be revived in Russian schools. Yampolskaya stressed that the calendar and thematic plan is undergoing final approval.
The Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation added that the Russian Society Znanie accompanies the organizational work of the expert commission, which can be a serious help in reviving reading programs, as well as updating and rebooting the school library system.
At the moment, a draft federal law "On the languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation" is being developed jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Draft presidential decrees on the establishment of the Day of Languages of Peoples and on the celebration of the 225th anniversary of Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev's birth in 2028 have already been sent to the government for approval.
Earlier, on January 1, Putin instructed to prepare a single line of school textbooks on Russian language and literature by June 1, 2026. It was clarified that the Government of the Russian Federation and the Council for State Policy in the field of Language support will be engaged in the implementation of the project with the involvement of leading universities and other interested organizations. In addition, Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Elena Yampolskaya, Chairman of the Language Council and Presidential Adviser, were appointed responsible for its implementation.
