- The Interior Ministry told the Russians about the "golden hour" after the transfer of data to fraudsters
After transferring personal data to fraudsters, a person has one "golden hour" to minimize the consequences of what happened. This was announced on August 6 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.
She noted that when transferring bank card data, it is necessary to change the password, access code to the banking service, and then freeze the card and accounts. In addition, friends and relatives should be warned about intruders to prevent data from being compromised.
"Immediately contact the bank at the number indicated on the bank card or the official website, inform them about the call or message from the intruders and dictate the phone number they used," Wolf wrote.
At the same time, if an account on a public service has been attacked by fraudsters, you need to promptly change the password, access code and call the portal's hotline. Later, it is worth reviewing applications and permissions, including on third-party services, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".
The Interior Ministry recalled that attackers can use messengers and social networks to gain access to victims' personal information and blackmail. In this case, you need to change the password to a new and complex one and enable two-factor authentication.
On August 3, the Interior Ministry reported that the most fraudulent crimes using messengers are committed in Telegram and WhatsApp (part of Meta, the organization is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). At the same time, 19 crimes were committed on the VKontakte social network, and one on Odnoklassniki.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
