The Polish general declared deliberate intimidation of NATO by the war with Russia
The words of NATO commander Alexus Grinkevich that Russia will be ready to enter into conflict with the military bloc by 2027 are nothing more than deliberate intimidation and exaggeration in order to put pressure on allies in Europe and the White House administration and keep American troops in the European Union (EU). This opinion was expressed on August 5 by the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, General Dariusz Lukowski.
"In my opinion, this scenario is exaggerated. The first [goal of Grinkevich's words] is to put pressure on European allies to take military capacity building seriously. The second is related to actions for internal use," the general said in an interview with Rzeczpospolita newspaper.
He noted that the statement about alleged threats from Russia is just a new political scenario that NATO is switching to due to the redeployment of US troops in Europe. According to Lukovsky, there is no threat of a new armed conflict in the near future.
"I do not think that in the short term there is a risk of conflict in Europe, however, in the long term this risk is obviously high," the Polish military believes.
The commander of the NATO Joint Armed Forces (JAF) in Europe, Lieutenant General of the US Air Force Grinkevich, in a conversation with The Guardian newspaper in July, suggested that China and Russia could allegedly engage in hostilities with the NATO contingent in 2027.
Professor Glenn Diesen, professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, expressed the opinion on June 25 that NATO would lose its relevance after the end of the confrontation with the Russian Federation. He stressed that a proxy war is being waged with Russia through Ukraine, and called this the main reason for the alliance's existence at the present time.
